On General Elections of 2009 – 18/04/2009

Drum beats of elections have started. Promises are flying everywhere. The boat is sailing fast. The wind of different alliances is blowing. There is no barrier of principles in forming alliances. Alliances, grand alliances and numerous alliances with lot of explanations. Everyone is calling for a look at it. Each one is blaming the other. However if there is a necessity of forming a government together after the elections then both the reactionaries and the revisionists can come together once again; isn’t it expressed in their statements? Doesn’t it proves how accurate is the statement of respected leader Comrade Charu Mazumder – when he said, “ revisionism pays lip service regarding struggle against imperialism, feudalism and reactionary forces. However they broaden the scope in deed to assist these forces.” They think that this is the time for the people to listen, see and obey their dictates. Nothing else. But what did the people gained after exercising their votes after all these years? What right did they gain? The workers-peasants and the toiling masses are at the same junction where they were before. A lot of factories along with a lot of tea gardens are at the verge of closure. The workers are losing their jobs and scope of livelihood. The peasants are losing their lands or are in the constant fear of losing it. The number of unemployed people is rising. Prices of all essential commodities along with farm inputs are at the highest peak. Due to this very condition of the people, the industrial goods are facing low demand, even while there had been price cut for the same. The inflation index is running towards zero. This is alike a patient of high blood pressure suddenly suffering due to horribly low blood pressure due to certain abnormal conditions. In these circumstances Nano is showcased as the solution to all problems. Then shall the comprador capitalists, the servants of imperialism, save the people by gulping the land-water-electricity, etc, free of cost? Does the fulfilment of the wish of the people depend on their wisdom? Did that happened till date? It is very hard to make the people believe these fairy tales. Along with these, taking advantage of the situation, the discontent of the people is diverted towards electoral process, opposition of land grabbing of unwilling peasants done by shading crocodile’s tears to serve the imperialist interest. The real intention is to turn the unwilling peasants to willing peasants once the power is captured in the near future. Along with it the government of the revisionists is carrying on anti people policies. Which aims to stab Marxism while paying lip service to it. The reactionaries are uniting against these with the intention of creating an anti-Marxism wave. Both of their intentions are same, to put the people against Marxism, and to filch the crimson banner of liberation from their hands.

Long time back, great Comrade Engels, while discussing about the universal suffrage within the state machinery based on exploitation said: “…..the gauge of the maturity of the working class. It cannot and never will be anything more in the present day state.” In the light of that teaching respected leader Comrade Charu Mazumder, before the creation of Naxalbari, while witnessing the temper and joy of the people after the change of government in 1967, said while paying respect to that very temper, no government bounded by parliamentary democracy has the capacity to fulfil the wishes of the people. Great Comrade Lenin had taught, “ A democratic republic is the best possible political shell for capitalism, and, therefore, once capital has grasped this very best shell it establishes its power so securely, so surely, that no change, either of persons, institutions, or of parties in the bourgeois-democratic republic can shake this power.” Therefore in their wildest bid to save themselves from the rage of the fury and discontent of the people, the type of conspiracies imperialism and its docile tools the reactionary-revisionists can hatch or are hatching, by diverting that very fury of the people and pacifying it to make their safe space, were all exposed by respected leader Comrade Charu Mazumder back then.

He said, the strongest weapon they have is illusion of parliamentary democracy, for this they are providing certain benefits to different sections. Whatever benefits they provide, they do not have the capacity of providing any relief to the majority of the population of the country, the peasantry.

Therefore these words of respected leader Comrade Charu Mazumder still stands so true even today. While this is an agrarian country, so it is useless to talk about the development of the country if there is no development of the peasantry. Without the liberation of the peasantry, the liberation of the working class is not possible; the liberation of the country is not possible. Thus, their so called development is the development of the exploiters. This country is still a heaven for imperialist plunderers, a semi colonial and semi feudal country. However, it is preached with full of pride that this is the largest democratic country of the world. Where is that democracy? Those who support this democracy, among them those who are in opposition, when they suffer any setback from the party in power in the parliament or its administration, don’t they cry, that democracy is been murdered? In this way, everyday numerous news comes out with their own statement that democracy is been murdered. Apart from this don’t we see how the justified movements and demands of the workers-peasants and people are suppressed? Who else can suppress, apart from the people ruling as part of the state machinery and their lackeys? Democracy does not mean only the right to speech, writing, organising movements, etc. These are the conditions of democracy, and struggles are done to establish and protect them. Though their remains scope for the ruling-exploiting classes to violate them according to their wish. The real meaning of democracy comes when the handful of people could carry on open and covert anti people operations to rule and suppress the people. Therefore according to the structure of the Indian society there is only one way to liberation, one way to establish the people’s rule, i.e the true democracy, through the people’s democratic revolution under the leadership of the working class. The main axis of that is agrarian revolution. There is both victory as well as setbacks in this very path. However, the final victory will be of the people only. Great helmsman of world revolution, immortal martyr leader of heart respected Comrade Mahadev Mukherjee gave us the guarantee of that very bright future – “In the new world today, the new India is vibrant at the horizon. Due to the inevitable rule of history, during the historic work of establishing socialism – communism in the new world, sometime some temporary setback will be there on the way, the struggle will die down. Then too, victory is continuous – invincible. This is the history of thousands of years of the civilization.”

Therefore, despite many obstacles, many difficulties, many acts of betrayal, the spark of Naxalbari personally created by respected leader Comrade Charu Mazumder, which was blessed by Chairman Mao Tse-tung, Vice Chairman Comrade Lin Piao, turned into a praire fire; and under the leadership of respected leader Comrade Charu Mazumder, and later under the leadership of leader of heart respected Comrade Mahadev Mukherjee, moved ahead from Srikakulam, Magurjaan, Kamalpur, Kalinagar, and developed into Ghogibariarpur. Under the light of the teachings of great Comrade Karl Marx, given at the eve of the historic Paris Commune, great Comrade Lenin said –“ To decide once every few years which member of the ruling class is to repress and crush the people in parliament – such is the real essence of bourgeois parliamentarism, not only in parliamentary constitutional monarchies, but also in the most democratic republics.” Does not the people who are in opposition behaves identically when they are in power? Comrade Lenin also said: “Take any parliamentary country, from America to Switzerland, from France to England, Norway and so forth – in these countries the real business of “state” is performed behind the scene and is carried on by the departments, chancelleries, and general staffs. In parliament this is just chatter for the special purpose of fooling the “common people”” Does not these statements of Comrade Lenin stands true even today? Then too Comrade Lenin took the opportunity of the parliamentary system and participated in elections when there was no revolutionary situation in Russia, in order to educate the people regarding the impotency of the parliamentary path, and not for cabinet berths. Also when the revolutionary situation ripened then he boycotted the Duma (Tsarist Parliament). Now it is the new historical era of Chairman Mao Tse-tung. The chief trend of this era is revolution. The struggling people of the world are arising against imperialism and its running dogs as the Third Power. The march of the same in India can be heard in different tunes, at Kalinganagar, Singur, Nandigram, Khammam, Jagatsinghpur, Lalgarh. It cannot be anticipated how, when and where the upsurge will explode. Each corner of India is highly inflammable. The condition of the world is not different. The reactionaries and revisionists are therefore gone mad to silent or divert the struggles. Some are carrying on brutal suppression and repression on them, some are pushing the people towards the mire acting as their friend. We must greet these struggles of the people. However, how can it be possible for them to reach the correct goal without the correct political leadership-class leadership? So in these situations the revolutionaries have to prove their commitments to the people. At present, participation in parliament in any country of the world including India amounts to stabbing the revolution, whoever shall do that will strengthen the hands of imperialism and reactionaries. As respected leader Comrade Charu Mazumder said: “Today the revolutionary Marxist-Leninists cannot opt for the parliamentary road. This is true not only for the colonial and semi colonial countries, but for the capitalist countries as well.” He also said: “In this era (i.e when revisionism, panicked due to the victory of the great proletarian Cultural Revolution, is interfering in the revolution of each country at the interest of imperialism) no revolution of any country can achieve victory without a struggle against revisionism. Revisionism is the enemy of the revolution of each country of the world, and its weapon is bourgeois democracy. Therefore the democratic revolution has to fight against bourgeois democracy, i.e fight against elections, parliament, etc and move ahead. Therefore we cannot accept any such equipment at any cost in the democratic revolution today.” Today in the era of the total collapse of imperialism, the moribund imperialism and its lackeys, panicked by the global economic crisis is trying to impose the burden of their crisis on the people of the world and wants to crush the people to death in their vain attempt to survive. Above all, India is today imprisoned in the web of the nuclear pact with US imperialism. In its attempt to attack great China, US imperialism is conspiring to make India its base. Therefore there are so many vile efforts to pull the people out of the battle field of struggle and force them to sink in the mire of elections. Then too, when the illusion regarding elections is getting shattered within the consciousness of the people, then it is propagated that the ‘real’ way of responding is through the exercise of the sacred right to vote. Normally then we remember that very statement of leader of heart respected Comrade Mahadev Mukherjee: “This ghastly election system is nothing else than a fruit of a big imperialist forgery laden over the people of this country.”

Soviet socialism did not came to the world as a result of elections, the liberation of China did not came through elections, the liberation of Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia did not happened through elections, the liberation of India will also  not happen through elections. Today, the struggle to build and protect the peasants self government – revolutionary committees through the flames of agrarian revolution in the countryside of India can only fulfil the hopes and aspirations of the people, and establish the rights and respect of the people in its true sense. There is no other way apart from this very path. This fact cannot be established through the blazing of weapons, or by disrupting the elections through threatening people. For this, the politics of respected leader Comrade Charu Mazumder and leader of heart respected Comrade Mahadev Mukherjee, which is inalienable from Marxism-Leninism Mao Tse-tung’s Thought, theory of Vice Chairman Comrade Lin Piao, needs to be implanted deep into the consciousness of the people. Therefore we repeatedly say, governments and ministers are changed through elections, but the exploitation is never stopped. There is no liberation through elections, liberation is possible through revolution only.
